Genre: Indie Pop, Electro
Label: Rack and Ruin

Ok, this is going to be kind of a Rack and Ruin Special, because I want to introduce you to some artists from this netlabel.

The first one is Elm, the one-man-project of Adam Loomis. I have to be careful to stay objective on this one, because I really, really like it :) He uses all kinds of instruments for his musical experiments, from guitar, bass and piano to synthesizers, harmonica and other stuff.

His latest project is kind of a trilogy. Especially the final release of it, Cloud Burst, is a masterpiece! On the one side, you have catchy electronic dance songs with noisy beeps, which remind me a little bit of Patrick Wolf, but without the hipster bonus. Might be another reason, why i like it. And on the other side, there are some calm, smooth piano songs.
If you want, you can get all of his numerous other releases here.
And here you´ve got the latest ones, all from November 2009:

So, then we have Woodland Heights, another one-man project consisting of Evan Benoit.
He creates finest indie pop, also with some electro elements. The texts make the girls` hearts melted and the boys jealous, because they didn´t write them ;-) Nothing more to say. I think it´s for fans of bands like Arcade Fire or Broken Social Scene…
