This is a Video of the Acoustic Version of Her Name is Callas new Single "Long Grass". You´d probably call it post-rock, but it´s more than that. It´s a fragile piece of calm in our big, busy world. Her Name is Calla are a multi-instrumentalist six-piece (or even seven, if you include cello) signed to Denovali Records, the well-known post-rock/post-metal/sludge label.
As you can see and hear in the video, there´s kind of an increase in it. First, only voice and unobtrusively acoustic guitar, then violin and banjo and at the end some quiet, well set drum parts. It just feels like time stops during listening.
The Single Version is a little more powerful and conscious in instrumentation, which is once again increasing. Additionally , there´s piano in it and a wonderful climax at the end.
The Single comes together with 2 other new songs from forthcoming album as CD in a wooden box set (limited to 200 copies) or 10" vinyl (cd included, haze or black vinyl, limited to 300 copies) on 17th January 2010. You can already pre-order at http://denovali.com/hernameiscalla/
