Ryley Walker and Daniel Bachman/Sacred Harp
Live @ Shea Stadium
Genre: American Primitive, Psych Folk, Guitar
Daniel Bachman of Sacred Harp from Fredericksburg, VA is maybe the successor of Jack Rose (R.I.P.). He's a magnificent guitar-player and this summer he toured extensively through the states together with Ryley Walker and alone.
You can get the beautiful music of this guitar-duo here on the blog or his solo stuff as Sacred Harp here *.
While I work on a 7" with Daniel Bachman here on Dying For Bad Music I stumbled upon some live recordings from this year, made at the Shea Stadium in Brooklyn, NY.
The first set (which was made on a later date) is Bachman alone. The second set is with Ryley Walker and Michael Collins (MC2) on harmonium on the opening track, which is really, really beautiful.
Just for the record - track 3 is Perigee Moon from the forthcoming 7" mentioned above and track 4 is Rappahannock (JR) from his debut album "Apparitions at the Kenmore Plantation".
