Delirious and hallucinatory Creak Folk from Down By The River...

What a weird and yet entertaining record. It starts right with an eleven minute long musique concrete/spoken word piece. Kind of a conversation with a not so talkatively counterpart.

Then Kurt Bauer sings with is shakey, creaky voice over a simple banjo pattern about his life and the fear that karma strikes back some day and hallucinations or dreams.
It reminds me a bit on Theo Angell or Daniel Higgs.

So this album oscillates between weird story telling, sparse folk tunes and musique concrete and it never gets boring even over some static, lengthy parts of drones.

On Kurt Bauer's bandcamp label page "Bangsnap" there is a shitload of records, but I can't say anything about it... You should check yourself.

But first try out Down By The River...
